Juvenile Diversion Program
Provide an effective alternative to a juvenile court proceeding in those situations where alternative action is in the best interest of the juvenile, family, and community. The advantages of this program include a reduction in juvenile court filings, allowing more efficient use of resources in those cases that truly warrant court action; providing an opportunity for the youth to be held accountable for his/her actions, bypassing a juvenile record.
Juvenile Assessment Center
Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is designed to serve as the focal point for comprehensive assessment and case management. Juvenile Assessment Officers (JAO's) assess the risk and needs of youth referred to the JAC and provide the County Attorney with recommendations for services.
By facilitating earlier and more efficient prevention and intervention services at the front end of the Juvenile Justice System, the potential to positively impact the lives of youth and divert them from the path of serious delinquency improves.
Changing Behaviors Alternative Program
The CBA is designed to be an effective program for at-risk youth to change behavior before any illegal activity were to happen. It helps to ensure the accountability on the part of the youth' involving the family and other community supports as a means of early intervention and prevention.
